Creative Art Wellbeing Workshops

IS THIS AN ART CLASS?  We use art materials but this is not an art class and no art experience is needed.  Each session is a creative journey, using a different medium each week - including collage, making, paint, pencil.  In each session we will explore fun exercises that enable creativity and foster our sense of wellbeing.

WHAT WILL I DISCOVER? A safe place to relax and be creative within a small group.  A route into releasing your creative expression and improving your sense of wellbeing.

WHEN?     Thursdays, March 27th, April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

TIME?        2-4.30pm

Creative Writing for Wellbeing

WHAT TYPE OF WRITING? A series of workshops in which to explore a journey of wellbeing using journalling, poetry, prompted writing, and stream of consciousness.  Facilitated by Melissa you will be guided on how to use writing as a practice that both contains and expresses feelings.  

WHAT WILL I DISCOVER? These workshops will focus on wellbeing and self expression - not technical writing techniques.  The objective is not around publishing or perfecting the art of writing, it is towards finding acceptance for the words of our internal world.

WHEN?     Thursdays, May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th

TIME?        2-4.30pm

Melissa  Purchase - Welcome to our to Creative Wellbeing Workshops!

I am passionate about using art and reflective writing to enable people to explore their wellbeing and potential.  Qualified as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist (MA), and trained in the use of Arts in Therapy and Education (Postgrad Certificate). In addition I hold a BA(hons) in English and Creative Writing. I use my experience as a facilitator of groups to provide a safe working space with guided activities for you to discover your creativity.

I want to share the benefits of art and creativity for overall mental and emotional wellbeing. My workshops are designed to provide a safe and nurturing space for individuals to explore their creativity and enhance their overall sense of wellbeing.

Research has shown that engaging in creative activities can have numerous positive effects on mental health. Artistic expression allows individuals to express their emotions, reduce stress, and increase self-awareness. My workshops are carefully curated to provide a holistic approach to wellbeing, combining art therapy techniques with mindfulness practices.

During our workshops, participants will have the opportunity to explore various art mediums, such as painting, drawing, and collage. As an experienced facilitator I will guide participants through different exercises and techniques, allowing them to tap into their creativity and discover new ways of self-expression.

Workshops are open to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. I believe that everyone has the ability to be creative, and my workshops are designed to foster a non-judgmental and supportive environment where participants can freely explore their creativity.

By participating, you will not only have the opportunity to engage in a creative and fulfilling activity but also gain valuable tools for managing stress, improving self-esteem, and enhancing overall wellbeing.
