Random Acts of Kindness

This year someone reached out to me to share a random act of kindness they received from Nigel Purchase, in their sharing my heart was moved, it made me think of the powerful impact of random acts of kindness.

Rachel writes 'I just wanted to say that when I was a little girl I went to the same church as Nigel.  He did an art workshop where we all painted a scene and I remember being so impressed when he painted horses in a field with just a few brush strokes.  I was very shy but asked him if he would draw me a picture of a deer (my favourite animal) thinking if he said yes he would draw it quickly like he painted the horse.  He said he would and then not long later he gave me the most beautiful pencil drawing.  It certainly wasn't quick and something I still treasure today.  I will always remember him and his kindness.  It was your dad that inspired me with art.'

This time of year there is so much pressure around buying gifts; it seems to me that the greatest gift we can give each other is an act of kindness.

Thanks @miraclesmugsandmore for kindly sharing this story, it brought back the memory of my dad, held in this beautiful sketch.
